How to Add an Email Signature in Gmail

Automatically add your name, company, phone number, or other information to Gmail messages.

Quick Answer

In Gmail on the web, open Settings → See all settings → General → Signature.

Step by Step

  1. Open Gmail on the web.
  2. Select Settings, then See all settings.
  3. Under General, find Signature.
  4. Create a new signature.
  5. Enter and format the information you want.
  6. Choose signature defaults for new messages and replies/forwards if desired.
  7. Save changes if Gmail requires it.

If That Doesn't Work

  • Mobile-app signatures can be separate from the signature configured on the web.
  • Keep business signatures simple so they display reliably across mail clients.
