How to Find a Printer's IP Address

Find the local network address of a Wi-Fi or Ethernet printer.

Quick Answer

Check the printer's Network/Wi-Fi status screen or print its network configuration page.

Step by Step

  1. Open the printer's Network, Wi-Fi, or Settings menu.
  2. Look for TCP/IP, IPv4 Address, Network Status, or similar wording.
  3. If available, print a Network Configuration or Network Status page.
  4. You can also check the router's connected-device list for the printer.

If That Doesn't Work

  • A DHCP-assigned printer address can change over time.
  • If software depends on a fixed address, use the router/printer's supported reservation/static-address method rather than choosing an arbitrary address.
