At the authoritative DNS provider, create an A record with the required host/name and IPv4 address.
Step by Step
- Sign in to the authoritative DNS provider.
- Open the domain's DNS records.
- Choose Add record.
- Select type A.
- Enter the host/name exactly as required, often @ for the root domain.
- Enter the IPv4 address.
- Save the record and allow caches to update.
If That Doesn't Work
- Do not create conflicting records for the same hostname unless the configuration intentionally uses multiple addresses.
- Confirm the server IP before changing a working site.
