Open the active network adapter's DNS settings, switch DNS assignment to Manual, and enter the IPv4/IPv6 resolver addresses you intend to use.
Step by Step
- Open Settings.
- Select Network & internet.
- Open Wi-Fi or Ethernet and the active connection/settings.
- Find DNS server assignment and choose Edit.
- Select Manual.
- Enable IPv4 and/or IPv6 as needed.
- Enter the preferred and alternate DNS server addresses.
- Save the change and test browsing.
If That Doesn't Work
- Record the previous setting before changing it.
- Changing DNS does not fix every internet problem.
- Use DNS services you trust and understand whether they support encrypted DNS in your configuration.
