How to Pin a Folder in File Explorer

Keep a frequently used folder easy to reach from File Explorer.

Quick Answer

Right-click the folder and choose Pin to Quick access.

Step by Step

  1. Open File Explorer.
  2. Find the folder you want to keep handy.
  3. Right-click the folder.
  4. Choose Pin to Quick access.
  5. The folder should appear in the left navigation area.

If That Doesn't Work

  • If the folder is already pinned, the menu may instead offer Unpin from Quick access.
  • Network folders can also be pinned, but they must still be reachable when you open them.
